most normal, and i mean normal, auto parts stores carry the d49 size battery. it is a little smaller than oem, but many on the net have sworn it works well and is easy to install. my auto zone had the d49, but in the back room also had the d94 which is the identical fitment to the oem battery. the d49 was about $90 and the d94 was about $110 These simply replace the E30 pieces and give you five lugs. You can also use Z3 six cylinder rear hubs alone with your current late-E30 control arms (early control arms require 318ti hubs).
