Back in 2018, KTM introduced the Duke 790 which was the first KTM motorcycle to use a parallel twin engine. They have since used this same engine type in all the 890 Duke, 790 and 890 Adventure models. Due to emissions the 790 Adventure model was discontinued and replaced by the 890 in 2020, followed by the 890 Adventure R in 2021.
Engine KTM’s new generation LC8c in-line twin-engine with 95 hp (70 kW), combined with modern electronics and a 6-speed sequential gearbox, ticks all the boxes for a travel-enduro motorcycle that can be ridden up to 450 kms between fuel stops on the open road. One big disparity is fuel range. On our ride to Barmah and back, we found the Tenere 700 averaged 5.2lt/100km compared to 4.6lt/100km for the KTM 790 Adventure. It looks like the Anti-Gravity brand battery seems to be the most popular, and from what I've read so far doesn't seem to have any problems with the 790 Adventure. Checking on their website, they don't list a battery for the 790 Adventure.

The 889 cc parallel twin engine produces 77 kW and 100 Nm, compared to the KTM 790 Adventure’s 70k W and 88 Nm. KTM has made improvements to the cylinder head, pistons, con-rods, crank case, crankshaft, balancer shafts and oil cooler. All of this helps the engine to run cooler and smoother, while performing a lot better.
